UAMS MEDICAL CENTER, LITTLE ROCK, AR:

RESIDENT CHAPLAIN

Applications are now being accepted for the full-time residency training program in Clinical Pastoral Education at UAMS Medical Center.  The CPE program at UAMS Medical Center has a history that extends over twenty years. Chaplain interns and residents serve as hospital chaplains and provide pastoral care and counseling to inpatients, families and hospital staff. Each chaplain in training is assigned to a number of floors and units, providing an opportunity for the trainee to experience the full range of care settings in a modern medical facility. The trainees are required to provide 24 hours on-call coverage for the Medical Center. In addition, each trainee is required to present case studies, attend didactic seminars, provide written reflections upon reading reviews, meet with their supervisors for individual supervision sessions, conduct a weekly ecumenical worship service and take part in group relations seminars.  The full-time resdidenct earn a stipend during their training which runs from September through August.

Job Description:
Jefferson Regional Medical Center is a 471-bed licensed, non-profit, regional medical center. It is the largest hospital in southeast Arkansas and the fourth largest in the state, with diverse specialties, serving diverse population. Currently, it has the only ACPE accredited CPE program in the state. Pastoral care is a well-respected and integrated part of the work of the hospital, serving patients, their families, and staff.
We are seeking a chaplain with good interpersonal skills, one who is able to work in community and function collaboratively with the Director of Pastoral Care/ACPE Supervisor, ACPE Interns and Residents, medical and other hospital staff, local clergy and religious leaders, and ability to mentor CPE students and participate in staff education.
Position requires a Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited seminary, certification through APC or certification eligible within one year of employment, good standing with a faith group, and a minimum of two years experience in pastoral care ministry or related field.

FORREST GENERAL HOSPITAL, HATTIESBURG, MS:

Coordinator of Pastoral Services - The Department of Pastoral Services seeks a full-time Chaplain Coordinator to plan, organize and implement pastoral care with an ecumenical perspective.  Through an interdisciplinary team approach, you will assess spiritual needs and offer support to patients, their families, and staff of all faiths upon request.  This position requires excellent administrative and teambuilding skills, a knowledge of diversity in religious practices, and contributing to staff education and development.  Oversee the day to day operations including the supervision of chaplain staff, scheduling, maintaining time and attendance, monthly reports, and other responsibilities as directed.  Position allows for Coordinator to accept interim pastorates or pulpit supply only.
